Octopi Cloud · optional

Octopi is free. Claude is there when you want it.

Octopi runs on your Mac with a local AI model, at no cost. Octopi Cloud lets you hand two jobs to Claude instead — planning your task and reading the web — for sharper results on hard tasks. Everything else, including your CRM and every site you sign in to, stays on your Mac.

What Claude can do for you

Planning

Turn your task into a plan

Claude Sonnet 5.5 or Opus 5.5 reads your task sentence and your column names and writes the step-by-step workflow Octopi runs. Your rows are not sent. If you turn it on, Claude also chooses how the chat handles each message, from that message and your column names only.

Reading

Read company websites and search results

Claude Haiku 5.5 or Opus 5.5 reads the public pages Octopi visits for each row and picks which links to follow — in a private, signed-out headless browser of their own (no window). A Yes/No changes your CRM exactly where Octopi's own strict check accepts the pages it cites, the same check the local model's answers face; the sentence Claude quotes is kept as the record of why, and only when it passes that check too.

You choose each one separately in Settings — Local, or a Claude model. If Claude is unavailable or your credits run out, Octopi carries on with the local model and tells you.

What a credit buys

You pay for what Claude actually uses, usually less than these cautious estimates (the same ones the app shows before each run). The exact charge is shown after.

How it works

  1. Subscribe or buy credits here, or from Settings ▸ Octopi Cloud in the app.
  2. You get a connect code on the confirmation page and by email.
  3. In Octopi, open Settings ▸ Octopi Cloud, enter the code and press Connect.
  4. Choose Claude for planning, reading, or both. That's it.

Questions

What exactly is sent to Claude?

For planning: your task sentence and your column names (only common column titles, the names your task uses and the columns Octopi made — any other column goes as its letter, so a first row of data is not sent as names, except a cell that is itself a common column title, such as “CEO” or “Contact”). For reading: your task, the text and address of the public pages Octopi reads for a row (the company's website and web-search results, opened in a private, signed-out headless browser with no window — never your signed-in browser), the answers of public data services such as SEC EDGAR, ClinicalTrials.gov, PubMed, openFDA and Google Patents, the list of links on the company's website so Claude can pick which to open, and your own values in that row — never a column your CRM or Outlook filled. A site you are signed in to is opened signed out, so only its public page can be sent, never your signed-in copy. Pages from your CRM, LinkedIn or Outlook and the links found in them, and registry pages opened in your own browser (such as Zefix or OpenCorporates), are always read on your Mac. For the chat's route choice, a separate switch: the message (at most 1,000 characters) and your column names, the same way — never your earlier messages, your cells or a page. With Octopi credits, requests pass through Octopi's server to Anthropic; our server counts usage but never stores the text. With your own key, they go straight from your Mac to Anthropic.

Is there a daily limit?

To protect your balance from a runaway task, a day (UTC) can spend up to half of what your account held when the day began (always at least 200 credits). The limit lifts after three paid months of the plan. Newly bought packs unlock over 24 hours.

What happens when I run out?

Octopi keeps going with the local model and tells you. Nothing stops halfway.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time, from Settings ▸ Octopi Cloud ▸ Manage subscription, or at link.com. Your monthly credits last until the end of the period you paid for; top-up credits stay. Cancelling doesn't refund part of a period.

Refunds?

Within 14 days of a purchase, write to admin@useoctopi.com from the email address you bought with, and we refund that purchase's unused credits. The details are in our Terms, section 8B.
