Octopi / Use cases / Company enrichment
Spreadsheet enrichment
Enrich a spreadsheet of companies — on your Mac
Drop in a list of company names. Octopi researches each row and fills the columns you ask for — website, industry, size, work email — with a clickable source on every cell, and your spreadsheet never leaves your Mac.
How enrichment works
Paste your list, say what you want
Drop a column of company names into a sheet and type the task in plain English: “add website, industry and a work email for each.”
Octopi researches each row
It compiles a workflow and works down the list — driving a real browser and calling your data providers to find each value.
Every cell gets a value and a source
Each answer lands with a clickable source you can audit. Export the sheet or push the rows straight into Salesforce or HubSpot.
| Company | Website | Industry | Work email |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nvidia | nvidia.com source | Semiconductors | media@nvidia.com valid |
| Spotify | spotify.com source | Music streaming | press@spotify.com valid |
| Figma | figma.com source | Design software | press@figma.com valid |
Example output. Real values and sources are filled row by row when you run it.
Why enrich with Octopi
Runs on your Mac
Your spreadsheet stays on your Mac and Octopi never sees it. The AI runs locally; lookups go straight from your Mac to the sites and providers you choose.
A source on every cell
Each value carries a clickable source, so you can trust and verify the data instead of guessing where it came from.
No formulas to learn
Describe the columns you want in a sentence. Octopi compiles the workflow — no query language, no table setup.
Bring your own providers
Free public sources work out of the box; add your own API keys for premium enrichment and email providers when you need them.
Questions
What can Octopi enrich?
Common columns include website, industry, company size, location, description, social profiles and work emails — plus anything else you can describe in plain English and that a public source or your data providers can supply.
Where does the data come from?
Octopi drives a real web browser to research each row and can call data providers you connect with your own API keys. Every value it writes carries a clickable source.
Is my list uploaded anywhere?
No. Your spreadsheet stays on your Mac and is never uploaded to Octopi or a cloud workspace. The AI runs locally; web lookups and any providers you connect are called directly from your Mac.
Do I need API keys?
No for free public sources. For premium enrichment or email-finder providers you add your own keys, which are stored locally on your Mac.
How many rows can it handle?
Octopi works down a list one row at a time and shows progress as it goes, so it handles long lists — you can stop and resume at any point.
